Woomera -spear throw – Australia – mid. 20th C

DESCRIPTION/EXPERTISE
In Australia the spear thrower is populary called a woomera, one of the the many aboriginal names. The woomera is usually made from mulga wood and has has a multi- function purpose ( fire making saw, as a receptacle of mixing ochre, ceremonies etc). It is however primarily designed to launch a spear.
