CHIEF’S HEADREST. Somalia.
The Nupe, or Tapa as traditionally called by the neighbouring Yoruba tribe, are an ethnic group that are located in the Middle and Northern part of Nigeria. They have various traditions, and it seems their culture is very similar to that of ancient Egypt. The Nupe have often tribal scars in their faces, which can identify their prestige and family of which they belong to. The art the Nupe produced is often abstract, like this beautiful oar shows.
